Would you like to know more about the happy places our rescue dogs end up?
We adopted Amelie on June 14th the day before Father’s Day 2008. She was 15 weeks old and 18lbs. We brought her home to meet her 8yr old brother, Oscar. They have been close ever since. Amelie has been a true joy to my husband and I. She completes our little family. Since adopting Amelie she has gained 27lbs and is healthy and happy. Her personality is bubbly, witty, and very loving. She has learned to sit, shake hands, lay down, and speak. We are truly happy to have Amelie and can not imagine life without her.
Thank you A Paw And A Prayer Rescue for completing our little family,
Patti, Skye, Oscar, and Amelie
Hi Ruth, Alison, and Cindy,
I am Emma. You might not know me because my name used to be “Drippy” when I lived in the South. I like my new name Emma much better! And I like the North really well too!
I now live in Michigan with my mom and dad and big brother Trevor. They are the same people who picked me up in Illinois after a long, long car ride. They were my foster parents then. I had a lot of things to learn and get used to. I had to learn that my big brother Trevor is old and has something called arthritis and that I can’t play too rough with him. I also had to learn that our kitty Button belongs here and is not lunch! I like Button now, but I am still so curious about him—I know he is not a dog and I know he is not a person, but what is he anyway? I still sniff him a lot, with my tail wagging, trying to figure him out!
My mom and dad have now adopted me, whatever that means. They say I am home and will stay here forever, but I don’t know what forever means either. I hope it is a long time because I really like it here. They have a big wood with trails through it and Trevor and I have so much fun running in the woods! Unfortunately I still have to run on a flexi because Mom says my recall isn’t good enough. My dad is busy fencing in our whole back yard so I will have a safe place to run and play without that darn flexi! I just can’t keep up with Trevor with that flexi! Our new fence is very unique. My dad is always making wood with the trees that fall down in the woods, and he has so much wood that the fence will be mostly stacks of wood connected by short pieces of fencing and gates. Trevor and I love this fence because we smell interesting critters that live in it!
Mom says I now have a beautiful coat. It has changed so much since I got here. When I first arrived it was kind of coarse and had many straw-like hairs in it. Several months of eating that yummy food has changed it. Mom says it is now “soft as velvet and a gorgeous, dark brown.” The straw hairs are gone except for a few left on the end of my tail. Speaking of tails, Mom just loves mine! She says I have the most expressive tail, whatever that means. Is that because I make sounds like a drum with my tail? Or is it because I like to make circles and ovals with my tail besides just wagging it back and forth? Anyway, I think she loves me too, not just my tail!
Mom says I can send some pictures along. I hope you like them. I will even send you a picture of my new fence!
Thanks for helping me get to Michigan. I just love it here.
Emma
Friskie loves to play with other dogs. His stomach seems to be getting better. He loves to run and play. Sometimes we take him to a ball field and just let him run. He started classes last night; hopefully, he’ll learn some manners and to walk on a leash without pulling or without keeping his nose to the ground. He’s an early riser. We can’t get him to sleep past 5:00 or 5:30 no matter what time he goes to bed. Hopefully we can get this adjusted as he gets older. He’s a great dog. He’s non-aggressive, lets my 6 year old granddaughter carry him around and loves to play with her until she gets too loud – that scares him a little. Our biggest problem is the yard and hopefully we can get this worked out with the electric fence in the front (we have two acres between us and the street). We love him and hope we can work everything out.
Thanks,
Marcia
I adopted this guy from you a couple of weeks ago and my twins have fallen real quick for him. One even gave up her bed so he and her twin brother had more room. The reason I am emailing you is to see if you have any more information about him and the breed he is. I also have a 19 year old son who fights over him with his little brother. We are beginning to believe the dog has mastiff in him which is great but don’t really know if you have any information on his background please let me know. On his adoption papers his name is Hooch. (I know, fitting right?)
Thanks for your time,
Robin Harmon

Hi! Here are some pictures of Daisy, the cattle dog mix who survived parvo. She’s still a little shrimp but such a good dog.
These pictures were taken when we went on a hike back in Feb. We are looking to adopt another puppy soon. One that has the same sort of temperment but larger. I loved those two I saw you with on Saturday. The BIG ones. Good luck on finding homes for all the pups. And keep me posted if you come across one with the characteristics I listed. Thank you so much!

Hi Judy,
I adopted a female schnauzer/feist mix from you on February 07, 2009 that I named Raleigh. I wanted to share a few pictures with you. She is a wonderful dog & is spoiled rotten. She was shy for about a day and then quickly came out of her shell. My mother was with me when I adopted Raleigh and has not gone a day without seeing her favorite granddog. She is seeing Dr. Dickinson tomorrow to get spayed. I wanted you to know how happy and healthy she is. Raleigh is an amazing addition to my life.
Thank you,
Katie Jennings

Henry
Hi Judy,
Just wanted to show you a picture of Dexter (that we named Henry). We love him! He has really been a joy for us. I can't believe how much he has grown in 3 weeks! How is Mama Mia? I was wondering if there was any way possible we could get him neutered at the vet we have established a relationship with near our home. Its the Red Bank Animal Hospital. Dr. Jennifer Kolb said she would be glad to honor your certificate if you are comfortable with that. I completely understand if you would prefer we stay with Dr. Dickinson but I didn't think it would hurt to ask. When you get a chance just let me know either way. Thank you so much! Olivia ClarkRosie (renamed Angel) is all settled in. What we thought would be an outside mate for Shelby has become an indoor baby. You spoiled her big time. I hope to take her to Banfield this weekend to see what they have to say about her scratching all the time. The other vet’s treatment doesn’t seem to be doing much. She plays with my 3 yr. and 5 yr. old grandsons and is very protective of them. They pet her and love on her and she’s all for it. We put a blanket down on the other side of the room, but she prefers to sleep in floor on my side of the bed, so I moved her blanket. Terry has fallen totally in love with her and so has my son and daughter-in-law. Someone stole our digital camera, but as soon as I can remember to do so, I’ll have my son take a picture to send to you. We took her to Terry’s parents house last weekend. They live on Sand Mountain on 40+ acres. I have never seen her so happy. She ran like she had never been outside before. She’s a mess (in a good way).Rosie

Sophie
Hi Judy! I wanted to thank you again for what you do! If it were not for you then we would not have litle Sophie. She is such a sweet girl. We believe she was meant to be with us. She acts like us! We all like to sleep! She has done really good. She loves to play! She's a beauty too! Below is a picture of her relaxing outside in the warm sunshine!!! Thanks again!
