We are so blessed to have a wonderful group of foster parents. They take some of our dogs into their families and their hearts. To become a foster parent you need to have the time and the love. These little guys need nurturing and acceptance. Many of them have never been in a house, never been petted, never been called by name, never felt a tender touch, had a bath, had clean water and 2 meals a day. You would bring one or more or our homeless pets into your home and care for them as you would your own pet. In time, these dogs go through an amazing change. Their emotional, physical and spiritual wounds are healed. That scared little guy that cowered becomes a proud, healthy, playful and affectionate dog. They learn to play, to trust and to live without fear and confusion.
If you have other pets, they would need to be up to date on they vaccines, spayed or neutered and vetted. We would ask that you fill out an application. We would also ask that you keep the pet - love it while you have it, make it feel like the best dog in the world and help him to be secure that he is special - then bring it for adoption every Saturday by 12:30 until it is adopted. Sometimes adoptions occur quickly, sometimes not - it is a week to week thing. Eventually, every dog is placed in their special home where they will never again know the fear and pain it has lived with. Adoption hours are from 12:30 - 5:00 and you would need to pick up your fur-kid then. If you are interested in becoming an APAAP Foster Parent, please contact us. We will meet with you and go over more details with you. You can go ahead and download the application and email it to us before we meet in person.
